Halle Berry - Berry Denies Engagement Rumours

Actress HALLE BERRY has denied rumours she is secretly engaged to longterm boyfriend GABRIEL AUBRY.

The Die Another Day star sparked reports she is planning to marry the father of her baby daughter Nahla after she was spotted wearing a ring on her wedding finger.

The actress was snapped at the Entertainment Industry Foundation's Revlon Run/Walk last weekend (10May08) wearing the ring - which reportedly belonged to Aubry's grandmother.

However, according to People.com, the jewellery was purchased by Berry, who vehemently denies it is anything more than a fashion accessory.

A source tells the website, "It's not an engagement ring. Halle just saw it and thought it was beautiful so she bought it for herself."

Berry and Aubrey have been dating since 2005.

Australian co-prod'n market expands

37 South: Bridging the Gap, launches new section

CANNES -- Australia's fledgling film co-financing market and the country's only one held during a festival, named 37 South: Bridging the Gap, is launching a new section to cater for local screenwriters and directors looking to meet the event's handpicked 70 producers from across Australia and New Zealand.

Organizers are extending the meet and greet as part of the Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF) which kicks off July 24 this year with the film festival kicking off July 25 and running to Aug. 10.

The new section will be entitled 37 South: Postscript & Direct and will bolster local Melbourne industry activity.

Organizers also told THR it has given Mark Hartley's "Not Quite Hollywood" finishing funding from its Victoria state-backed Premiere film fund which supplies small amounts of cash essential to Australia and New Zealand productions such as completion bonds in exchange for the rights to unspool selected titles during the film festival – as well as a non-exclusive 12 month touring period after the event. The pic will take its worldwide bow at this year's event.

The fund has $1.2 million to spend across four rounds and only accepts applications from market-ready projects in advanced stages of financing. It has also backed Fred Schepsi's "The Last Man" from the same fund for its 2009 festival slate.

By extending the reach of the market for its second edition, event manager Mark Woods, who also manages the Premiere fund, aims to "create ever more opportunities" for filmmakers from down under.

Woods is currently in Cannes to speak to sales agents about the co-production event but stresses that only decision makers with cash get on the invitation list for the event.

As indicated by their touch, Go-cart brought a clearly childlike worldview to their uniquely cinematic firebrand of fractured electro-pop; unlike the cutesy, baby-doll mental capacity which informed the exercise of many of their more capricious coevals, however, the group's vision of puerility was by totally odds bloodcurdling, evoking a hallucinatory earth of helplessness and fear. Formed in Pittsburgh of the South, England in 1990, the Pushchair aesthetic earlier consisted primarily of frontwoman Rosie Cuckston's eerie vocals and the sounds of a homemade Theremin, just the unit's ranks later big to include multi-instrumentalist Matte Eaton, bassist Surface-to-air missile Owen and keyboardist/sampler Soap Simpson. Afterwards their bare castanets 1992 EP debut Thrash about, Pram's euphony began to fester to a greater extent than intricate, their peculiar melodies and hypnotic pound contemporaries textured by toy canis familiaris pianos, triangles, glockenspiels, glass hammers and even a Hawaiian babble out machine; the 1993 releases Iron Lung and the full-length The Stars Ar So Boastfully, the Ground Is So Small...Rest as You Ar greatly expanded their horizons by experimenting with sound and dead body structure, and by the spill of 1994's Atomic number 2 they fixture began incorporating elements of jazz and hip hop. Pram's patterned advance continued with 1995's first class Sargassum Sea, a deeper steep into sampling which yielded their to the highest arcdegree taut material to date. Another EP, Music for Your Movies, followed in belatedly 1996, and in 1998 Baby buggy returned with the full-length Frederick North Pole Wireless Station. Fall 2000 sawing machine the button of The Museum of Imaginary number Animals. The undermentioned year the pigeonholing issued the Sleep talking EP, and then returned with another full-length, Darkness Island, in former 2003.
